Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Jason L. Huskey
I’ve worked in the office at Twin Lakes State Park since 2011; I’ve been a writer since I was a child. Someone at the former found out about the latter. Now I write about Twin Lakes State Park for you wonderful folks.
I was born and raised in central Virginia and make my home here. My work background is rooted in customer service—from carrying the local paper as a kid to helping our visitors find the perfect place to fish at Twin Lakes today. I like to write, fish, hike, and do other outdoorsy type things the few days a year when I’m not working. It’s nice to work at a place where I can do just that!
